Saliva Testing

Saliva testing provides an ideal, non-invasive method for measuring the availability of the body's useable steroid hormones. The majority (90-99%) of our steroid hormones are "bound" to proteins which causes them to be "unavailable" for use. The remaining 1-3% is released for use through tissues such as the salivary glands which makes a perfect way to test for steroid hormone levels. Hormones generally tested in this fashion are, estradiol, estrone, estriol, progesterone, testosterone and the adrenal steroids, DHEAS and cortisol.

Blood Spot Testing

Blood spot testing has been used since the 1960's. This is a minimally invasive form of blood collection that can be done in the office or in your own home by using the "finger stick" method. The patient simply nicks their finger with a lancet and places blood spots on the special paper provided in the kit. It is then sent via regular mail to the ZRT lab. There is no specialty handling required as this form of blood collection is not considered a biohazard.

Bio - identical Hormones

Researchers have shown that there are significant differences between hormones that are natural to humans (bio-identical) and those that are synthetic or animal derived. Bio-identical hormones have the same chemical structure as hormones in the human body. The key to natural or bio-identical versus synthetic is the molecular structure of the hormone. In hormone replacement therapy it is important to replicate what the body has originally and naturally produced in order to achieve the maximum results.

Sclerotherapy

This is a popular method of eliminating superficial telangiectasias ("spider veins"). An agent is injected into the veins causing a mild inflammatory reaction that causes the formation of fibrous tissue inside the vessel. This process causes gradual fading of treated vessels over several weeks to several months. The number of treatments differs from one client to the next. One to six treatments may be needed with an average being three to four.

Botox

Botox Cosmetic is the first and only FDA approved treatment to reduce frown lines by relaxing the muscles that cause the lines to form. Since its approval Botox Cosmetic has been the number one provider administered aesthetic procedure in the U.S. It is a purified protein that relaxes muscles by blocking the nerve impulses. The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes with no recuperation time needed. Botox begins working over the next few days and will last for up to four months.

Juvederm is a non-animal sourced Hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is used to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar that is found in our joints and eyes. When injected it binds with the water in our bodies to provide a "lift" that fills our facial folds. Juvederm is FDA approved and is the one of the longest acting dermal fillers lasting up to one year.
The procedure takes approximately 1-2 hours and requires a local anesthetic block for comfort. Bruising and tenderness may last up to one week. We offer complementary consultations.
